Our corporate landscaping is truly gorgeous!

It is so pleasant to arrive in the morning at the Lucerna street entrance and find this green wall extending along the entire inside perimeter of our facilities, spanning nearly 2,000 square meters. These gardens are cared for with love and dedication by a team of three gardeners supervised by Shirley Echaiz, secretary to Mr. Miguel Berndt, who was responsible not only for designing but implementing the garden.

In fact, around 50 years ago he planted the two Patagonian araucarias that now tower above the other trees, bushes and flowers, such as pittosporum, Japanese maples, magnolias, Peruvian pepper trees, olive trees, English laurel, creeping rosemary, lavender and agapanthus, that brighten our view throughout the year.

These green areas and the potted plants inside our offices have been maintained for the past eight years by an external company, which also cares for the adjacent green space along Bremen street. According to Roberto Boegeholz, a spokesperson for the landscaping company, “We are optimizing water use by using automatic sprinklers to maintain the grounds in order to care for this increasingly scarce resource. Other care measures include fertilizing twice a year and fumigating certain species when necessary, taking precautions to not interfere with the chemical components of our products at this plant.”

The araucarias are pruned in September or October to avoid nesting by invasive parrots and also to prevent workplace safety risks since mature pine cones fall off the trees around this time of the year.

Thanks to these measures, sick or dry plants or bushes are rarely seen on our grounds because they are promptly replaced.

Let’s all work together to take care of this beautiful legacy so that we and future generations may continue to enjoy it.
